What's the best way to moderate my stream?
The perfect stream has a crisp, meaningful topic and a helpful, informative description. This is how you show your viewers what you want them to do when they interact with you. If a viewer does not behave according to your expectations, we recommend that you first try abenevolent hint. Ideally, this will lead to understanding - and you will retain a loyal viewer.
Often other chatters will point out when something was wrong. We recommend that you give this self-regulation some leeway and focus on your stream. Benevolent hints from viewer to viewer often work well, so no intervention is necessary. |
What tools do I have at my disposal for moderation?
In most cases, it is enough to point out the desired behavior to a viewer. If things get too heated in the chat, you and your moderators have the following options for regulating the chat:
- Mute viewers
If you mute a viewer, you give him a short break.
The chat function for this guest is then blocked for 10 minutes. The viewer remains with you.
- Exclude
If things don't go as planned, you can remove a viewer from your stream. The guest leaves the current livestream and cannot join again. In the next livestream the viewer can join again.
- Exclude permanently
In rare cases, it may be necessary to permanently exclude a viewer. With a permanent exclusion, the member will leave your current stream and will not be able to joinany more of your streams in thefuture . A permanent exclusion can be undone in thesettings on the overview page.
All options are applicable by clicking on the member's name in the chat or in the viewer list. The decisions can be reversed in the same way. Alternatively, you canremove permanentbans in your settings under the "Bans" tab on the livestream overview page.
How can I appoint moderators for my stream?
If you want to concentrate fully on your livestream, you have the possibility to get help in the form of moderators. They will be identified in the chat and can help you answer questions and keep troublemakers away. Ideally, your chosen moderators should be people you trust and who are focused readers.
You can appoint moderators by clicking on the member's name in the chat or viewer list. There you have the option to make them
- appoint them as atemporary mod for theduration of the current stream or
- give them these rights as a permanent moderator for all your future streams.
Your moderation team will have the same moderation capabilities that you have, aside from permanent exclusion. They can mute members or exclude them from your current stream. Additionally, they can support you in a TeamStream.
Your partner can watch your stream as a viewer from another device with your joint account. He*She can thus support you as a mod in the chat while you concentrate on the livestream. |
How can I dismiss a permanent moderator?
If you no longer want to use a member as a moderator, you have two options to remove them from this role:
- By clicking on the member's name in the chat or the viewer list during your current stream
- Outside of a stream via the settings button on the livestream overview page in the "Moderators" tab
Permanent moderators will receive 15 exclusive ClubMail specials with our mascot JOYsi credited monthly as a thank you for their efforts. Additional JOYsi specials can be purchased with JOYns. |
