Information about the protection of your data and the privacy policy
The JOY-Team is actively committed to protecting your privacy. Your data is as sacred to you as it is to us, because our goal is nothing less than your peaceful sleep after an exciting day in the JOYclub community.
We are taking the opportunity of the binding Data Protection Regulation - DSGVO (GDPR) for short - from 25.5.2018 to inform you even more transparently about existing protective measures, your rights as a user and data use in general in the updated version of our data protection declaration.
Questions and answers
We have received many inquiries about this topic in advance. We would therefore like to briefly address the most frequently asked questions here.
Which technical measures characterize the data protection on JOYclub?
Not only since the introduction of the DSGVO do we rely on important technical factors to ensure the best possible security of your data. Our servers are located in Germany and therefore, with regard to the data protection of the hoster, German law has always applied - one of the strictest in terms of data protection.
To ensure that the data is also transmitted securely, we use SSL to secure the Internet connection. SSL uses encryption algorithms to ensure that data transmitted between users and websites cannot be read by third parties during transmission.
We also have our data protection regularly certified by TÜV: Imprint
I have linked you. Do I have to pay attention to anything regarding data protection?
No, you don't have to pay attention to anything. A link is the most normal thing in the world. If you link to JOYclub, embed a clickable banner to us or mention our community in social media, there are no consequences for you. You can continue to link to JOYclub as much and as often as you want.
Tip: Here you can find ready-made banners that you can easily copy and use.
Do I need a contract for data processing with you?
A processor is someone who processes data on behalf of the controller and - among other things - does not pursue his own business purpose with regard to the personal data. That sounds pretty pompous, doesn't it? To be honest, the legal situation in this regard has not yet been fully clarified. However, we currently interpret the legal situation in such a way that we are not a commissioned processor within the meaning of the law and therefore no contract for commissioned data processing is necessary.
Can I continue to use the organizer and group widget?
Yes, and without you having to pay attention to anything. The widgets are integrated via iframe. There is no reference to processes relevant to data protection.
Can you advise me on 'photography/artistic creation and DSGVO'?
No, unfortunately this is not possible. We cannot and are not allowed to give legally binding advice. In our opinion, you can continue to upload and publish media in JOYclub without drowning in legal regulations. If the hobby becomes a profession, you should in any case deal with the requirements of data protection laws and possibly keep your own processing directory.
What to consider with company accounts or as an organizer/club?
Nothing changes for you in JOYclub. In all likelihood, however, you will have to take care of a processing directory and privacy policy - related to your own activity. If you process personal data and store them in JOYclub, it might be necessary to keep them in your own processing directory. Please seek professional help for this if you are unsure. We cannot and should not provide legally binding advice on this.
Is my work as a group leader/moderator affected?
No. As our private member and therefore user of the JOYclub platform, you are not affected by the regulations. You take the role of the consumer. If your work is unusually connected with entrepreneurial activities, please seek external advice on the extent to which you should become active yourself in connection with the GDPR.
