Group events are created and managed like regular events in JOYclub. The same rules apply to all events: For example, no contact information such as phone numbers, email addresses or similar may be published. The language must be appropriate and youth-free. Posted flyers must comply with our basic rules for content and may not use third-party templates from the web.
How do I link my event to a group?
Group events have a special feature: they can be associated with a group. As a group leader, you can select the appropriate group under "Group assignment" when you create your event. The event will then also be listed among the events of the selected group. As a group member, please contact your group leader before creating the event to discuss and implement the link.
Can I link my event to a group later?
You can have your event linked to your group by the JOY team via a support request.
How do I limit the participation in my event to my group members?
You can set events that you plan exclusively for your group members as private (or "only for members of the group") when you create the event under "Group assignment" and "Visibility". This will restrict access to the event details and participation to your group members only.
Note: Group events that are set to private will not appear in the public event calendar. They also do not appear in the profiles of the registered members.
How do I limit the visibility of the thread for my event?
If you have organized a group event in which only your group members should participate, please set the corresponding event thread to "private" as well. To do this, edit the initial post and adjust the "Visibility" item accordingly.
Note: Group events in which the keyword "children" appears (e.g. barbecues, Christmas market visits, joint excursions with childcare, etc.) are generally considered "private" events. In this way, you can avoid possible misunderstandings about this sensitive topic right from the start.
Can my event also be edited by my co-moderators?
As the organizer, you decide when creating your event whether only you or your group moderators can manage the event. To do this, please select "Release for owners only" or "Release for group mods as well" under "Group assignment" in "Administration".
Note: Especially in case of possible sickness absences or the like, your co-moderators can thus also access the event administration.
Promotion Packages
The JOY-Team supports private organizers with their events - especially with groups - with individually arranged promotion packages to give the guests a little pleasure and to make the JOYclub better known.
The order of a promotion package is possible twice a year. You can make a request at the earliest 21 and at the latest 14 days before the event, if at least 25 guests are registered.
Make a non-binding request and the JOY team will check whether and in what form we can support you.
