Notifications are messages that inform you about new posts, pictures or threads from the forum and your groups. You can also receive notifications for group newsletters.
Which notifications are displayed to you?
The popup list shows you new and unread notifications. The bell icon in the main navigation shines in white as soon as new notifications arrive, the red counter shows the total number of unread posts.
The most recently arrived notifications appear at the top, brand-new ones are additionally highlighted. You can call up the notifications one after the other via the popup list. Unread messages will slide down until there are no more unread messages.
Clicking on the "All notifications" button will take you to the notifications overview page.
Where can I see all notifications?
Click on the bell symbol to open the notification list. Above the first list entry, you will find the button "All notifications". With just one click, you will get to the overview page for your notifications.
How to mark notifications as read / unread
Mark notifications as read
There are two ways to mark notifications as read:
- You click on a notification in the popup list, which takes you directly to the thread or newsletter in question. When you go to the popup list again, the entry no longer appears and is automatically filtered as read.
- In the popup list as well as on the notifications overview page, all unread messages are highlighted brightly and marked with a dot on the right. Clicking on the dot marks the message as read, and the dot turns into a ring.
In the popup list, the notification disappears immediately. On the overview page, you will find the message again. If you only see unread notifications, uncheck "Unread only".
Mark messages as unread
Go to the overview page for notifications and uncheck "Unread only" if necessary. This will show you all read and unread notifications. Click on the ring to change the status from read to unread. The ring becomes a dot again and the message is highlighted in light gray.
Delete notifications?
All notifications disappear automatically after 4 weeks. A manual deletion is not possible. Alternatively, all notifications can be marked as read. To do this, you click on the button "mark all as read" below the notifications on the overview page.
Filter notifications
When you open the overview page, all unread messages are automatically displayed in chronological order - the most recently received at the top. Above the first entry, you can change the view by checking or unchecking "Unread only". This setting will also be saved for the next time you open the overview.
You can also filter the notifications by forum or group. Select the desired forum or group in the respective filter box and only the corresponding messages will be displayed.
Please note that not all forums or groups are displayed in a box, click "show all" for that.
Manage shared notifications so that your partner does not miss anything
On the overview page for notifications, you can see both read and unread notifications. If you have checked the "Unread only" box, uncheck it. Now you can click on unread notifications to open them as usual, new tabs will open.
Your original tab with the overview remains. There you can set the just read entries to unread again, because as long as you don't reload the page, the list entries will not be reordered.
