ClubMail are direct messages between members to exchange private communications. In this context, abbreviations like PM (personal message) or DM (direct message) are also used. All terms refer to the ClubMail feature.
Under "ClubMail" you will find your personal inbox, where you can start new conversations or create a group and manage your contacts. Your ClubMails are private and only visible to you and the respective recipient; no one else can see or read them.
ClubMail Inbox
In the ClubMail inbox, all incoming and outgoing messages are shown to you. Besides the avatar, username, and the ClubMail special added, you can directly read the first lines of the message. You also have various options to filter your messages.
ClubMail Conversation
All ClubMails you exchange with one or more members are shown to you in a chronological conversation. Each message appears in a separate block. This way you can always follow the thread — similar to a messenger.
The red badge with a number indicates how many unread messages there are. In the conversation, you also receive alerts, for example if your contact has shared an album or if someone has been added or left a ClubMail group.
Within conversations, the status of sent messages is also displayed. This status, shown as check marks, is found at the bottom right corner of the message. Here's what they mean:
- 1 white check mark –> message sent, but not yet received.
- 2 white check marks –> message received, but not read.
- 2 green/red check marks –> the message has been read by the recipient.
- Trash icon –> ClubMail deleted by the recipient.
Deleting Messages and Conversations
Currently, there are two ways to remove conversations from your inbox.
-
Move the conversation to the trash
To move a conversation to the trash, you can click the "X" next to the conversation in the overview, or, with the ClubMail conversation open, click the three dots and select "Move to trash".
This only moves the conversation to the trash; it does not delete it.
Conversations can be restored from the trash to your inbox.
-
Using the multi-delete function
With this function, you can permanently delete multiple ClubMails at once.
In your ClubMail inbox overview (not in the conversation), click the three dots. In the menu, you will find the option "Edit inbox".
After clicking, you can select multiple conversations and mark them for deletion. To confirm deletion, click the trash icon at the bottom.
Warning: Conversations and messages deleted this way cannot be recovered.
Can I delete sent ClubMails?
You can delete your own messages anytime for yourself by simply clicking the white check mark next to the message and choosing "Delete".
It is not possible to delete a message already sent from the recipient’s side.
Reason: We are a service provider under telecommunications law. As such, we are not allowed to access or delete messages entrusted to transmission (e.g., ClubMail).
Bulk Processing of ClubMails
The multi-delete function not only deletes multiple ClubMails at once, but next to the trash icon in multi-processing mode, you also find the option to mark all selected ClubMails as read or unread.
This way you can easily mark multiple conversations as read without opening them one by one.
Settings and Customization
You can find the settings for your ClubMails and inbox by clicking the three dots and selecting "Settings".
Here you will find the following options:
- Privacy
- Here you can initially blur received images to avoid unpleasant surprises. You also find the "Restrict message sending" feature to hide the ClubMail button in your profile from members who do not match your search criteria.
- Information and Notifications
- In this menu, you can choose whether to receive ClubMail notifications for compliments or matches, decide who can send you video chat requests, and whether to receive event invitations via ClubMail.
- Message Bubble Color
- If you want to customize message display, you can change the bubble color here.
- Inbox Sorting
- Signals
- Here you can choose to receive a sound or email notification when a new ClubMail arrives.
